Raw Living's Wheatgrass comes from New Zealand's sunny Canterbury Plains where it is grown slowly and harvested at its nutritional peak. It is a wholesome green food made from the powdered dehydrated leaves of organically grown young plants. Green vegetables are essential in our diet to provide us with vitamins, trace elements, minerals, enzymes fibre and chlorophyll.
Wheatgrass is recognised as a powerhouse of nutrients. Drinking a shot of wheatgrass juice is equivalent to eating about 1 kg fresh vegetables! If you haven't got time to get to the juice bar, or you can't stomach the taste of wheatgrass juice, don't worry because you can still enjoy its amazing benefits in powder form.
The vibrant dark green of wheat grass reflects its abundance of nature's wonder substance chlorophyll, well known for its deodorising and cleansing properties. Wheatgrass is about 70% chlorophyll, and as such is the best dietary source for this key nutrient. Chlorophyll is very similar in structure to haemoglobin, hence chlorophyll is an excellent blood cleanser. Chlorophyll is a natural source of magnesium. Wheatgrass contains all the essential amino acids and is rich in essential vitamins and minerals.
When the wheat grain is sprouted, the starches in the grain turn to sugars. So there is no gluten in wheatgrass and it is suitable for people who are intolerant to wheat.
This Wheatgrass is always harvested young, when it's less than 9 inches tall. It is then dehydrated for 25 minutes and the moisture reduced to less than 5%. Every hour samples are taken for quality control. After drying, and without delay, the powder is milled in stages, to particles of 50 microns before packaging in Raw Living's organically verified facility.
How to use: wheatgrass powder isn't as strong as fresh wheatgrass juice but it is still pretty potent! Put 1 tsp in a glass of water and knock it back.
