About Organic Coconut Sugar

Organic coconut sugar is a low GI sugar sustainably harvested from the coconut palm flower for its delicious nectar. It has a GI level of just 35. This low glycaemic value means that it is beneficial to diabetics and people watching their weight. It is also low in fructose, even though it is taken from the sap of a coconut tree. Contains essential vitamins and amino acids, it resembles brown sugar and has a rich, rounded, caramel sweetness a bit like butterscotch. Use as a substitute for white or brown sugar. Coconut Sugar is definitely the healthier choice nutritionally as it offers a rich supply of mineral salts, B vitamins and amino acids - this is part of the reason that it is gaining popularity among health gurus. In fact many cultures throughout history have valued it for its health benefits.

Joe McGrath I was worried that this would make all my baking taste of coconut which is fine for me as I love coconut, but not all the family do. However, you really can't taste the difference between this and ordinary sugar.
