About Organic Raw Cacao Nibs

Raw Organic Criollo Cacao Nibs from Real Foods. The cacao beans are simply cracked and have their shells removed leaving the raw nibs (this process is called winnowing). Great for adding a natural bitter crunch to cookies and other baked goods, for making your own chocolate or simply for nibbling if you like a raw snack.

Brim full of goodness, and especially rich in magnesium, sulphur and antioxidants, cacao is said, amongst other things, to encourage wellbeing through the release of anandamide, a bliss endowing compound. Known as the "food of the Gods" this sugar free, wondrous natural chocolate can be savoured and celebrated here on earth. Soil Association certified they make a potent nourishing snack that keeps you going !

The cacao beans are sourced from plantations across Peru. They are grown organically by local farmer cooperatives using traditional farming methods. Unlike many crops grown on a large scale, cacao cultivation doesn't drive deforestation as the cacao plant needs the shade these trees provide. Our supplier is working with growers who are promoting sustainability and protecting biodiversity. These Cacao Nibs are raw. Most cacao nibs are roasted (it helps to bring out the flavour) but these are dehydrated as a heat-free alternative before winnowing.

These organic cacao nibs are like tiny bursts of chocolatey goodness with a satisfying crunch. I sprinkle them on my morning porridge or just munch on them straight out of the bag when I need a pick-me-up.

If you're a chocolate lover like me, these cacao nibs are an absolute must-have! They're like nature's own version of chocolate chips, with an intense cocoa flavour. I use them in baking to add a twist to my brownies and cookies. I love the fact they're organic and packed with antioxidants too.

By Zoey Walker on 28/11/2023

These raw cacao nibs have earned a permanent spot in my kitchen cupboard. They're great for when I'm craving something chocolatey but want to keep it healthy.

These little nibs are packed with flavour and give me that chocolate fix without any guilt. Knowing they're organic makes me feel like I'm making a healthier choice.

I've recently started incorporating more superfoods into my diet, and these organic raw cacao nibs are a new favourite. I sprinkle them on top of my morning smoothie bowls or mix them into homemade energy bars for a tasty boost. It's like treating myself while still nourishing my body.

By Carl Parker on 22/04/2023

I keep a jar of ground cocoa nibs for a before bedtime drink. Mix into warm milk or powdered milk for a great night sleep. So nutritious and benefit to good sleep.

I love cacao nibs, I know everyone else seems to be baking amazing goods with them, but to be honest I just eat them straight out of the packet! I've chucked some into my own fruit and nut mixes before and they're good in them.

By Jennifer Reeves on 18/08/2014

These are great, I usually just use them to sprinkle on ice-cream and desserts, but I've tried infusing them in cream and it was lovely - off to try that cacao fudge brownie recipe - looks yummy!

By Anna McLeod on 06/08/2014

Cacao nibs are very high in antioxidants and taste amazing as well. You can really get creative with what you use them in, and it's great that I can buy as little or as much as I need here.

By Scott Murray on 11/07/2014

I bought these cacao nibs to make the Real Foods Cacao Fudge Brownies. Couldn't stop myself sampling a few! Delicious.

Raw Vegan Snack Spirulina Cacao And Coconut Energy Balls Recipe

Summary: Raw vegan energy balls and bars are super easy to make, very versatile, and make great after dinner treats and midday or post workout snacks. For a basic fail-proof recipe, simply use equal amounts of nuts or seeds and dried fruits, and add a little of as many flavourings as you desire : food-grade essential oils, super foods or spices. These Spirulina, Cacao and Coconut energy balls are a great combination, as the sweetness of the dates, Brazil nuts and desiccated coconut perfectly balance the bitterness of the cacao nibs, and the relatively modest amount of spirulina beautifully blends in without being overpowering. Do try them as an evening treat or as a mid-morning / mid-afternoon or post-workout snack. Makes about 12 energy balls.
