Cacao butter is the edible natural vegetable fat of the cacao bean. The cold pressed method used ensures all the natural nutrients of the cacao bean are retained. Cacao butter itself is a very stable fat, containing natural antioxidants that prevent rancidity and give it a storage life of two to five years.
Store the cacao butter in a cool dark place. Cacao butter tends to melt quite easily, so only melt the butter gently over a low heat and be careful not to boil in order to preserve the natural nutrients and antioxidants.
Cacao butter is also popular as a moisturiser.
