About Organic Peppercorns Black

An essential ingredient in so much cooking, you shouldn't be without them. Black peppercorns are the most popular choice of pepper for good reason.

Black pepper is produced from the still-green unripe berries of the pepper plant. The berries are cooked briefly in hot water, both to clean them and to prepare them for drying. The heat ruptures cell walls in the pepper, speeding the work of browning enzymes during drying. The berries are dried in the sun or by machine for several days, during which the pepper around the seed shrinks and darkens into a thin, wrinkled black layer. Once dried, the spice is called black peppercorn.

Summary: Oh, how I wish you could taste this ! Roasted Jersey Royal potatoes, pear wedges simply poached in water and spices, Roquefort, with mixed salad leaves lightly dressed in a garlic mustard dressing. Raw Alkalising Heirloom Tomato, Avocado and Spirulina Salad Recipe

Summary: Perfectly ripe heirloom tomatoes are so delicious that the best way to do them justice is to eat them as a salad, simply dressed with lemon juice and olive oil. This salad is a twist to that, with added spirulina and avocado. Spirulina crunchies only contain spirulina, they have no added ingredient, but somehow the way they are produced makes them taste different from powdered spirulina, and add a crunchy element to this salad. But of course, you can use spirulina powder if you can't get the crunchies. If you can, leave the sea salt out ; the salad is naturally and delicately salted by the addition of seaweed. You may use any sea vegetable you have on hand, I like to use dulse because it is thought to contain Sodium, Potassium and its other minerals in a ratio that is suited for human health.

Raw Vegan Vegetable Lasagna Recipe

Diane Finlayson There are some very good recipes on this site. I have sometimes been disappointed in the past buying peppercorns from the supermarket as they can seem to be rather 'tired'. I never thave that problem with organic peppercorns from Real Foods.
