The Cyrenians Farm charity offers young people at risk a place to stay in a family style therapeutic community, whilst equipping them with the life skills needed to move on to independent living.
The picture above was taken on the farm and is one of the workers, Tom Phillips. Tom originally worked in theatre but a chance encounter led to a job as Project Farm Worker with the local charity which Real Foods has always supported.
Staff residents and volunteers plant, nurture and harvest a huge range of traditional organic fruit, vegetables and edible flowers on just 8 acres of carefully tended land. The results are some of the highest quality organic fruit, vegetables and eggs around!
With sustainability and biodiversity at the heart of the farm's principles they produce delicious, traditional varieties of fruit and vegetables with amazing depth of flavour. Packed with health giving qualities their fresh produce is literally bursting with life!
This summer why not try out their speciality mixed salad bags with edible flowers.
The whole array of Edinburgh Cyrenians Farm produce is available when in season from Real Foods and their free-range eggs are renowned for their outstanding quality and flavour.
