Mama Teas (Twitter @Mama_tea)
Mama Teas are based in Edinburgh, they supply a range of herbal teas. They are specifically designed for mums; although anyone can (and does) drink them. Founded by Anna Louise Simpson in 2009, she worked with a master tea brewer to get the best tasty teas to help people through different stages of pregnancy. This raspberry leaf tea is not bitter, which the many are. Anna Louise won the UK Mumpreneur Conference for "Best Start-Up" last year and you may have seen her on breakfast television discussing it!
The caffeine free tea is available in several flavours including New Mama, Ready Mama and Cool Mama and is available in our webshop. They've also popped in to do tastings at Real Foods event and always go down a treat. Try some and see what all the fuss is about…
Stoats (Twitter @Stoats)
Launched in 2004 at summer festivals, Stoats started supplying fresh porridge to festival goers and then developed a range of tasty oat bars, cakes and even handy porridge pots. They're based about 20 minutes away from our Broughton Street store and can be found not only in our stores but in festivals, farmers markets and sporting events around the country. If there's a long queue to a green and silver van at breakfast, it's probably them! Here's a link to some of their bars and our staff favourite Goji Berry and Flax Seed Porridge Oats bar.
Garvald
Over 40 years ago we became the bakery’s first customer, and are the bakery’s largest retailer today; stocking the whole range of Garvald handmade bread in our two central Edinburgh shops. Including: wholemeal, malted grain, Tibetan, malt, linseed, white, walnut bread and a variety of Garvald cakes and biscuits. Look out for the new sourdough loaf being developed.
Garvald is no ordinary bakery. It is a small Edinburgh charity inspired by Steiner principles, which provides adults with disabilities the opportunity to develop skills in meaningful work and realise their potential. All the products are 100% organic certified by the Soil Association and the flour and other ingredients are supplied by a local worker’s co-operative.
